Relay For Life = EXCITED!!!

I love this time of year (well I technically love all times of the year) but this makes top three!

Year after year I get this tingling feeling from all the support our county gets for our Relay Event.  Should be no surprise that we excelled to the #2 County in South Carolina in per capita for 2011 from being #5 in 2010.  BUT - for us it's not just about the numbers - UNLESS you're counting the number of lives we are aiming to save!!

I had the wonderful opportunity of attending the South Atlantic Relay Summit back in October.  That was such a WOW experience.


I got to help the National RFL Task Force decorate tables and beckon all the SC peeps to our area
And I witnessed this flash mob - sweet!
Since the formation of Relay For Life and their partnership with the American Cancer Society this organization has raised over 4 Billion dollars for Cancer Research, Detection, and Prevention efforts.  Hampton County is in the the South Atlantic Division and I am very proud to say that we lead all the other divisions across the world in dollars raised, totaling the astounding amount of 65.2 Million dollars.  Researchers have determined that to date Relay For Life is saving approximately 350 lives per day. Here are the goals we PLAN to reach: In the year 2015 - 850 lives saved per day and in the year 2020 -1000 lives saved per day.  Now this is something worth celebrating!

Our Theme is ~ Celebrating More Birthdays ... One Holiday at a Time!

Kick-Off is next Tuesday January 24th beginning at 6:30 at Hampton First Baptist Church. 
Teams.. .Survivors...Team Members...Anyone who loves Relay is invited to attend!

It's almost . . . HARVEST TIME! For the Wheat Crop   Luke Bryan can sing it far better than I can say it! I am getting a little ahead of myself with the harvest time song though.  They just completed peanut planting and have started with cotton.  If it is the Lord's will, I'll get to show you pictures when those are ready for harvest too! While we're on the farm subject our middle farmer, Lockwood , will graduate Kindergarten next week.  He is very excited that he gets to be "Old McDonald" and ride on the school tractor in their play.

Welcome to the family, Camden!

The newest addition to our family has four legs, sharp teeth, floppy ears, and slobbery kisses! Yep, you guessed it  . . . we have a new puppy! Meet Camden Walker Jarrell - born December 6, 2013. He has each member of our family wrapped up tight including both sets of Grandparents. Here he is upon arrival at the Jarrell House. He made himself at home and sleeps snuggled up with Sissy every night. He even has Stella on his side! He is now almost 5 months old and weighs almost 20 lbs. He likes to chew things such as shoes, books, money, etc.... You know, anything he gets to quicker than we can! On a positive note he is house trained with only a few minor accidents, he sits when told, and he LOVES the water so we are all eager for boating season. Just look at that sweet face!

Wedding Bliss

  So grateful these two families allowed me to capture their special day.        My cousin Nicole wowed with her simple but oh so elegant dress. Such a beautiful day!   Jacqueline, Brandon, and I attended school together so photographing their wedding was such an honor.  They were married in a charming white chapel where the ceremony was so beautiful there was not a dry eye in attendance.    May your days be filled with love for years to come! xoxo
