He's a "Hand Full"!

Image
SO.... YEAH.  Doug and I are still amazed at how time flies by.  Our last baby is five years old - literally and figuratively - A Hand Full! If you've ever been around us I know Doug has told you the story on our last baby {with no detail spared}. Every year near our children's Birthdays we reflect on the day they were born and the nine months {Brittany's seven and a half months} leading up to their special delivery. Since you've heard Doug's story I want to share mine. The torn wrapping paper, un-opened new toys, and leftover cake still occupied our home when we learned we were expecting again.  This certain Birthday I speak of was Lockwood's very first Birthday!  Doug and I talked about the possibility of more kids - I claimed no more - he said two or three more.   I had recently changed to a part time job so that I could be home more with the kids.  My baby had just had his first Birthday.  I though...

Colorful Meanings

Image
Mulling through the web for color inspiration for re-painting our exterior doors.  They are currently black and I was thinking of changing to a bold/fun color.  These caught my eye . . . .   via   via After reading this colorscope description the current black might stick.  Check out your color for a fun read!

Ipod Shuffle

Image
Ipods are so amazing! Our kids {especially the boys} have a new found love of electronics.  Brittany graciously sold her old Ipod to Lockwood in January for $90 since she wanted the newest one - great deal, right?  Emerson has been wanting one ever since!  Since he has a Birthday coming up we decided we'd get him that. So, that's where the shuffle began . . . . . . Lockwood left his Ipod in his shorts pocket and Brittany washed it ------ oops!  Brittany was so upset and we thought Lockwood would be devastated too.  I didn't hear the exact conversation but Britt said he laughed and said it was okay.  Sissy promised to help him purchase another one {the newest edition with the camera}. On a whim we let the newly cleaned Ipod chill out in a bag of rice for a couple days.  Lockwood decided to check it to see if it worked today.  Well, look what is back to singing! Lockwood really had his heart set on that new camera one. ...

Summer Fun

Image
Cannot believe Summer ends (kids go back to school) in less than six weeks.  We have been busy making wonderful memories with family and friends! {Boating Fun} {Festival Fun} {More Boating Fun} {Beach Fun} And the favorite so far was our {Lake Fun} weekend with my parents and my sister and her family! {Lake Fun!} Along with all our fun we are trying very hard to concentrate on Summer Reading/Writing projects also.  Now, that is not so FUN for anyone in our house!  Good thing we haven't been on vacation yet - good threatening tool, haha! ~Happy Summer~

Life in the fast lane!

Image
The thing about living life in the fast lane is that there is absolutely no time to merge into the slower lane! With May coming to a close we can almost breathe again.  A friend once told me that the month of May is the new December.  Different weather indeed, but jam packed with excitement all the same! I started off May with the annual RFL Survivors' Luncheon.  It is always a treat to spend the day with such strong and inspiring people.  Our Theme for Relay this year was "Celebrating More Birthdays ... One Holiday At A Time!"  It has been such a fun theme. After the luncheon we were full swing in Relay mode! So proud of our amazing community on their efforts to help eliminate cancer - they have raised to date $110,000!! {To learn more about our event visit us on the web at www.relayforlife.org/hamptonsc }   Next, we were proud to celebrate Lockwood and his class graduating Kindergarten! They all had so much F...

It's Almost ....

Image
It's almost . . . HARVEST TIME! For the Wheat Crop   Luke Bryan can sing it far better than I can say it! I am getting a little ahead of myself with the harvest time song though.  They just completed peanut planting and have started with cotton.  If it is the Lord's will, I'll get to show you pictures when those are ready for harvest too! While we're on the farm subject our middle farmer, Lockwood , will graduate Kindergarten next week.  He is very excited that he gets to be "Old McDonald" and ride on the school tractor in their play.
